  • Laboratory > Solid Mechanics and Aircraft Maintenance Laboratory

Location: Room E206, Tamsui Campus
Tel: +886 - 2- 2621-5656 ext.3544, 2617
Lab. leader: PhD. Yeong-Kang Chang, Chien-Chun Hung
Contact window: CHANG SHUO KAI(Assistant Technical Specialist)

This laboratory is mainly to provide students' observation and analysis of solid mechanics and vibration test. The main equipment
in this Lab:

  1. Flight Vehicle Structural Vibration Test: To study and analyze the vibration phenomenon of flight vehicle.
  2. Shaker Vibration System: To measure the natural frequency and mode shape of a test model by shaker.
  3. Rotary Disk Balance Test: To study how to use weight to balance the rotary disk.
  4. Multifunctional structure testing machine: A multifunctional structure testing machine (MSTM) is used for a wide range of material or structure experiments such as tensile tests, torsion tests, load testing of trusses, buckling tests, bending tests, etc.
  5. Material Strength Testing Machine: provides the opportunity to explore the mechanical properties of structure materials by hands-on experiments including tensile, compressive and bending test for varies materials. This test results will include the maximum stress, maximum strain and elastic modulus.
The above equipment are mainly designed for courses of Engineering Materials, Mechanics of Materials, Aircraft Structures, Vibration, Aerospace Project, etc. Through these experiments, students become familiar with the basic concepts, principles and analytical tools needed in measuring and data processing equipment.
